BOUNDER Plus Conventional style frame with Power Tilt
21st Century Scientific's Power Tilt System (PTS) can be installed on all BOUNDER models. With a power tilt system, the user can control the angle between the seat and the ground. The front of the seat tilts up from the normal driving position, and the seat and back move together. Usually the tilt can be adjusted over about a 45 degree range. The seat to back angle is fixed, usually at 94.5 degrees, though other seat to back angles can be custom ordered. The arms and front rigging move with the seat. Most styles of BOUNDER arms and front rigging can be installed on power tilt systems, including DIPLR dual independent power legrests. The PTS gives the user added independence and improved seating comfort.
Many users prefer a tilt system in combination with a power recliner, power seat elevator, and/or power legrests. See the combination system listings for more information.
The PTS is normally configured for a sheet metal pan seat. However, sling upholstery as well as other forms of solid seating are also available. If power tilt is combined with a power recline and/or a seat elevate system, a sling seat may be possible. Sling backs, solid backs and sheet metal pan backs can be installed on all PTS chairs.

HEADREST - PTS does not include a headrest. Some users do require a headrest; be sure to order one if you need it. Many styles are available; adjustable center post headrests and sling headrests are the most popular. |
STD TS PSS CTRL - Standard toggle switch control. Move the spring loaded center off toggle switch in one direction to tilt the seat up; move it in the other direction to return the seat to the normal driving position.
|
JOYSTICK PSS CTRL - Joystick Control of Power Seating System. Allows user to proportionally control up to six different actuators through the joystick. Speed and direction of movement are controlled by joystick position. Control is very smooth and actuator jerking is eliminated. A bi-directional select switch chooses which power seating function is being controlled by the joystick. |
JS & TS TILT CTRL - Joystick and Toggle Switch Control of Tilt System. The toggle switch is usually placed near the rear of the left or right arm to facilitate return to the upright position when the seat is fully tilted. |
TILT LO - Power Tilt System Lockout (prevents chair from moving or reduces speed when seat is tilted up) |
PSS HD - Power Seating System Heavy Duty Upgrade (for users between 250 and 400 lbs). Maximum tilt is usually reduced to about 40, 35 or 30 degrees, depending upon user weight and other factors. |
PSS XHD - Power Seating System Xtra Heavy Duty Upgrade (for users above 400 lbs). Maximum tilt is limited to about 30 degree |
